.__bread and roses__.

Hi, welcome to dyingfilmmaker13's blog.

Bread and Roses (2000) by Ken Loach, I don't know, guess I have some mix feelings about it.

I think that the theme of the film is very powerfull 'cause it's from the perspective of the inmigrants, that's something you dont seen every day, specially in a movie placed in LA.
The message of the struggle of janitors is very inspiring, but I think that the style of the movie hinde the impact that could have achieved in the audience.
It is not that the movie is slow or something, is just that it don't has a style according to the theme. While I was watching the movie I had a feeling that was more like a TV novel than a movie, let me put an example, in 1999 the chinese filmmaker Zhang Yimou made a movie based on the actual China, based on the works of the children that left elementary school to go to the big citys to become a work force. That had a "documentary" point of view, like the italian neorrealism of the 40's and 50's.
The message was inspiring, the way it was made, not so much.

Until next time.

.__technology__.

Hi, welcome to dyingfilmaker13's blog.

I love technology, have a lot of artefacts related to different task. But if I have to choose just one, I'll choose my old netbook. When I was a kid I had a Windows XP desktop with my brother, so we both used to write works for school or made ppt's. When he had to go to Argentina my parents bought him a tiny netbook to be in touch, so he had it for years.
In that time I helped my teacher to made the planifications to his classes because he didn't know how to use a computer, so he lent me the netbook that the school gave him, it was the same one that my brother's got.
When he came back to Chile I started my carrer in the University, so I gave the netbook back to my teacher and left with no-transportable computer, just my desktop. So my brother got a job and needed a better perfomance in his PC, so he bought a notebook and gave to me the old netbook.
I really like it because is tiny and lightweight, I can bring it to ICEI and it makes no difference in the weight of my bag, I use it everyday to surfe throw the web, watch videos and movies and write all the works related to college.
After a while, I change the OS from Windows to Linux, now it works perfectly fine. And I have to admit that when I have to do just a little thing on the internet, I rather to turn on the netbook than check it on my phone or in my Mac, guess just got a little affection throw the years.

.__why did I choose this carrer__.

Hi, welcome to dyingfilmmaker13's blog.

When I was a little boy I always dreamed to becoming a teacher. That of course didn't last long until I realize that I didn't have the patience to handle fourty students in a classroom.
Later I wanted to become a vet, I always have loved animals since I was a child, watching TV Shows about their environment and life style, I guess that's why i'm vegetarian now. That last a few years until I had biology in high school, I sucked.
So as a teenager I never had a direction or goals to reach, just enjoyed life with my friends not worrying about College or that kind of stuff. So in my free time I started to watch movies and TV series, starting to learn about cinematography and audiovisual language.
In a few years I had seen a tons of movies and know a lot of great directors, so I realize that in high school watch movies was the thing that I had done most, I had to become a film student.
Now I'm so satisfied with my decision, but I can't see me working in a production company or something. I guess just will work in personal proyects with little budgets and a reduce number of people, making the kind of movies I like.
