._english_again_.

Hello everyone! Welcome to dyingfilmmaker13’s blog.

Today I’ll talk again about my experience having English in the university. So last week I talked about the way I’d like to speak more English and practice pronuntiation in classes, but today I’ll talk about why. I’ve always love English, I started to have it in Elementary School and I always wanted to learn more and more. The thing is in High School it wasn’t so good, when I was on my last year I remeber that we had a new teacher and she started to teach us the days of the week and the months of the year. YEAH YOU READ IT RIGHT: the days of the week and the months of the year. So English wasn’t a challenge anymore.

Here in the University is not the same, when I made English III, Benjy –our teacher- always wanted us to talk, so he used to ask and ask until we answer him and then he corrected the way we spoke. I had to make a presentation in front of the whole class and even wrote an essay, I never  had wrote an essay in English without the computer. So now in English IV I actually like to do the video blogs, because I always try to make it in just one shot, it’s like a personal challenge to do it as good and fastest I can. I’ll say that found myself with English again has been really cool, even is not thaaat hard, it always was my favorite subject in School.

._we_can_do_this_better_.

Hello, I'm dyingfilmmaker13, and I believe in a better English IV.

So today I’ll have to talk about the English programmeHonestly, I have no idea what to write about, so I think I’ll mention some things I miss from English III that I’d like to do here. First of all, I always have thinking that English classes are to talk, of course you have to learn how to write to start a basic conversation, but for example, last semester we only used the computers to write our blog and not to do normal activities. Normally our classes were with a pencil and paper; we read a lot of texts and even wrote an essay. That is the kind of things I miss, I think for English IV the real deal is to speak the language fluid and smoothly, personally I like when the teachers start to ask questions to random students, because speaking is the way we can learn from our mistakes.

This semester I'd like to have more conversations, for example on Monday when we talked about money –not a great subject by the way- but we speaked the entire class, between all of us the conversation was flowing and actually, it was great. Maybe would be nice if for one class when we have to write something, we won't have access to Google Translator or WordReference, because in more than one case, it's more an obstacle rather than a real help. Maybe a presentation in front of the whole class or something, I don't know. English is the universal language, we should lose the fear of speak it and do it more often.

That's all for today, see ya next time !

._low_budget_films_.

Hi, welcome to dyingfilmmaker13's blog.

Today we have something pretty much as a "free topic" entry, so as our teacher wrote that we should talk about something related to our careers, I'll write about the low budget films. In the rest of the world low budget films are a great way to start a career, directors work with a small group of technicals and actors, the thing is to create an incredible large world with the least amount of objets possible.
Here in Chile the thing is different, it does not matter if you're a new filmmaker or you have decades making films, the budget is equally low. There are just a few exceptions like the films of Sebastian Lelio or Andrés Wood [and those shitty movies -I don't even know if I should call them movies- like El Club de la Comedia or Stefan Kramer's]. The thing is, I've always thought that you do not need the best cameras, the best microphones or even the best actors to tell a good story. One of my favorite Turkish filmmakers did his first four movies alongside his friends, he was directing and making the photography, while a friend of him was encharged of the microphones, and the other two were the main actors. His movies are so remarkable, that made me realize that a great movie is not about the money, it's about the passion that you put on it.
So I guess that's what the future has for me, this is the right moment and the right time to try new things. After we graduate, we'll have to produce material to make some money, and then never stop.

._international_post_graduates_studies_?_.

  Hi, welcome to dyingfilmmaker13's blog.

Today I'll talk about post graduates studies that I'd love to do in the future, gotta say that it's a little bit hard to talk about it because it's the kind of stuff I don't even have thought about it. If being here in a undergraduate career let me out of money every single month, post graduates studies would kill me by a heart attack.
I remember those sad days in high school [but now happy days compared to my last few weeks here], when I don't had any idea of what should I do with my life, so I started to search online about Universities and careers of my interests.
My brother studied journalism in Buenos Aires, Argentina. There he paid like USD$95 per month in a private institute without any scholarship or benefit, so I though that if he could made it, I can make it too. I searched on the UBA: Universidad de Buenos Aires, and in other tons of institutes that offer the career of filmmaking.
I found that the superior education is absolutely nothing about the money compared to Chile, there you have to pay a reasonable price about all. There I found the documentary film post graduate course, it’s the same kind of post graduates studies that Universidad de Chile offers, but if you cross the border you’ll have the chance to study in a different country paying less more and live and interact among a different culture and a brand new filmmakers.
I’m not 100% sure about it, but definitely I’m not backing down for the chance. Maybe someday I’ll be able to have a chance and improved my skills, of course I’d be honored to live for some years in another country, and even more if I’m using that time to become an specialist in the area that I truly like, making movies.

._crying_a_river_.

Hello everyone! Welcome to dyingfilmmaker13's blog.

Today I'm typing with a lot of nostalgia in my stone-heart, that's because I'll talk about the different jobs that I always dreamed about, so without further detour let's begin. When I was a kid I wanted to be a teacher, I was like 6 years old but the idea of teaching how to read to other people filled my tiny little heart with tons of joy, I though about it like practically opening a new world for other people's exploration. I was decided to become the best teacher in the world, but as I was growing up I realized that my social skills were well below average compared to other people, so my first dream job was discarded.

Later I wanted to be an actor, I always participated in the school plays for special events or some workshops. Playing different characters with other ideas or exploring varied personalities and taking some distance with my own way of being was an activity that I really enjoyed. People said that I was good, and in that age (from 12 to 15) I started to search for academies and universities that offered the career. But later, I watched some actors who were really really good, and I was covered with insecurity, so my second dream job was discarded. Sometimes I think about what would it be of myself if I would studied to become an actor instead of a filmmaker, maybe I would not be dying and depressed all the time. Maybe, someday I'll consider to play a role in a small project develop by myself, that would be nice.

And finally from my fifteen I was invaded for the filmmaking universe, I started to watch bunch of movies and TV shows until today, I'm not regret of choosing this career, anyway I always have thought that this is not my last showdown in a University.

I have to say that this was the deeper entry in my blog, I'm glad that I'm writing this one week later because just the teacher and Lii, my stalker that reads my blog from time to time, will read this one. See you all my fictional reader in other superficial entry next time.

.__free_topic__.

Hi, welcome to dyingfilmmaker13’s blog

Today I have the chance to talk about whatever I want. It’s kind of hard to do it, specially when I know that people will read it (or supposes to do), I’d feel more confident to talk about any stuff if my name doesn’t appear right there in a Google+ widget (somebody use that thing?).

Having other ten entries from last semester’s blog, I’m running out of topics, so I’ll talks about the most genetic stuff that people say when you ask them about free topic: music. I remember that last semester I wrote and entry about it, and you can find it right here: https://dyingfilmmaker13.blogspot.cl/2017/05/music.html (is that counting as another word?)

Anyway, to do this entry more special I’ll talk about one of my favorites bands, Art vs. Science (even the name is cool right?). Art vs. Science it’s a… well… is a little hard to define, they are a sort of electronic band but not that electronic, maybe a little tecno or even pop, the thing is that they combine bunch of styles and create/destroy a new one.

Their songs are… demential. A strange alination of weird sounds and their voices with some crazy effects creates an stunning and eccentric atmosphere. The first time I saw the cover of their last album I immediatly understood the outlandish of the band. I really recommend this band for some people who has certain tendencies for bands like Daft Punk or Kraftwerk, who of course, are references to Art vs. Science.

And if you can, you have to watch some of their videoclips. If their songs are weird, their clips are weirdest.

Of The Edge of The Earth and Into Forever, Forever

Until next time pals.

.__best_holidays__?__.

Hi, welcome to dyingfilmmaker13’s blog

Today I’ll talk about my best holidays, I’ve never thought of choosing one best vacations, I hate summer so much so I guess that immediately makes my vacations bad.

But well, a really good holidays were actually this year, I’m not use to go for holidays with my family, the holidays of my dad never matches with my brother’s, so this year me and my girlfriend went to the city of Valdivia, in the XIV region of Los Ríos. We just took just our backpacks and went to the house of her aunt. There we ate a lot of food, went to some not fancy restaurants, and some really good bars with fresh and delicious drinks.

We spent the afternoon walking around the city, taking a lot of pictures, going to coffee shops and visiting sanctuaries of nature. I really love pachamama, so we went to the ecological park in the Austral University, and we also had to travel for more than three hours in a car, in a terrible nasty sunny day to visit the natural reserve of Wilo-Wilo. I like this vacations because I could do wherever I wanted to, go everywhere in anytime, eat and drink when I wanted to and most important, being surrounded by incredible breathtaking nature <3
